First day (1)

This trip starts from Rubavu as first stage of congo nile trail with a boat and stopover at camping area around Cyimbili collins guest house where our boat trip on this magnificent lake gives you opportunity to take a sundowner cruise on the lake, spot some beautiful birds and have great scenery views of the lake and its surroundings.

Visitors can explore some of the islands on during this boat tour or you can take part in activities like playing beach volleyball, swimming from cyimbili to near island and windsurfing as well.

Second day (2) 

After morning breakfast and tour briefing the tour of second day starts by walking (Hiking) another stage of congo nile trail from Cyimbili to Kinunu and within this stage there are a number of community based tourism on offer, such us Agro-production plants, ethnobotany tour even local fishing using traditional methods and don’t forget that taking a boat trip with us offers numerous benefits, such as the opportunity to spot many waterbirds like kingfishers, Crowned Lap wing, darters, blue-cheeked , bee-eater, hammerkops, GreatEgret, Stalks, common Squacco heron, and many more…. A binoculars and and a bird book is required. Here you observe various types of wildlife in their natural habitat, and take in stunning views along the way. 

straightforwardly, there are different activities tourist can do on or around Lake Kivu also include hiking along shore of Lake Kivu, there is a great and mostly done excursion for hiking along the congo nile trail which offers tourists a great opportunity to hike through Rwanda’s amazing landscapes and terrains along Lake Kivu through the deep villages on the countryside from the northern part all the way to the south or vice versa. This experience usually gives tourists fascinating adventure moments off the beaten track with greatly rewarding and stunning sceneries of Lake Kivu and its surrounding that include magical sunset view on the other side of Republic Democratic of the Congo.

Third day (3)

With a boat guide, you have a full briefing about the trip and then get in the boat, sitting and enjoy the ride with different views of the surroundings of the Lake Kivu heading to the coffee washing station about an hour and this tour is simply explain how coffee is processed from crops to cup and now it is the time to know how one of the best coffee in world is processed from crops till we taste it. Visit coffee plants, harvest the beans, entering the industry with full explanation of what is going on. We have now the dried coffees, it is your time to grind the coffee in mortar, cook it and taste it. At coffee washing station A warm welcome from an agronomist of the station waiting for you. Back by boat to end the tour with an addition of boat ride that let you know the lake Kivu and it surroundings on the way to coffee washing station and back to Gisenyi via hot springs as well.
